Gypsy Made Simple Shape Card

Happy Saturday Everyone,

YAY, Sheila, I did it. LOL. I am so happy I got to participate in your Saturday morning challenge. For those of you who are just visiting for the first time, Sheila at She's a Sassy Lady takes the time every Saturday morning to do a video with her Gypsy. She shows you how easy it is to create cards. I don't always have the easiest time following along but, this morning, I found this card quite easy, so I figured I would give it a try.

For my card I used George and Basic Shapes. I used a cupcake from the Love You A Latte cartridge for the layers. I stamped some sentiments and a dragonfly. I added some gems to bring it out.

Sheila, I love your hippo card, especially the little skirt. Adorable. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. See you soon. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Throwback Thursday - Frame Challenge

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Emma from My Creative Time is having another Throwback Thursday. I just love Throwback Thursday challenges, especially when I can participate.

For this challenge, Emma is featuring "frames".
You can use any cartridge that has a frame, or if you don't have a cartridge that has frames, you can make your own.

It can be any project of your choice.

I used Kraft cardstock for the base of my card, orange for the mat, green for the first shape and a pretty striped paper for the frame. The silouette was cut out using a cream color.

I used the Wrap It Up cartridge. They had a cute frame that had a cupcake inside of it but I used my Gypsy (she's such a great friend ;), and I hid the cupcake so that just the frame would cut out. Then I cut out the same shape for the background. I cut out the cute silouette of the man and woman sitting at a table.

I used the stamp set You Are Perk-fect from Emma and stamped the sentiment It's a coffee date!. I thought that went just right with the cut. I distressed the edges of the card with an edge distressing tool and added just a touch of brown ink.

Thank you for stopping by. Your visits are very much appreciated. See you soon.

A Bookmark, A Card and A Box

Hi Everyone,

It's Lisa from Lisa's Craft Room here for my turn this month. Thank You Sheila for having me and for all you do. Gee, it's been so crazy lately that I haven't even had time for me, but I hope that will change soon :) It is so important to make time for ourselves. Anyway, where Mother's Day is coming soon, (May 13th) I figured I would get a head start on a few things. I decided, since my Mom loves to read, I would make her this cute bookmark. I cut out two rectangles from a regular file folder and adhered them together with my Xyron. I used Tim Holtz distress inks to add some color, then I used a flower stamp and stamped it randomly with Versamark. I sprinkled clear embossing powder on the images and used my heat gun. I sprayed the whole thing with blue glimmer mist to bring out the flowers, then dotted blue stickles in the center of each flower. I punched a hole in the top, added a grommet and then tied some ribbon.

Next is the card. I just cut a regular A2 size card, tied a ribbon around it, used the extra large die from My Creative Time. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set Mom You Rock, also from My Creative time. I also stamped a couple of flowers and a dragonfly from a stamp set that I got as a gift, I don't know the name of it. I added stickles to the flowers and the dragonfly. The cute rolled flower I had purchased quite a while ago from Christina of Creating with Christina. I think she had a die that cut them out and you rolled them up. Emma from My Creative Time just came out with a rolled flower die if you didn't already know that ;) I sprayed the flower with blue glimmer mist and added a pearl in the center. I added some stitching around the edge of the card.

Last is the box. I cut out one of the boxes from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More with fit to page. I put it together and added a ribbon. I added a larger flower to the top and added a pearl in the center. I will probably fill the box with chocolates ;)

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit. Thank you again Sheila for having me. I hope to see you again soon. I have a couple of things I am working on for a birthday so I'll be posting them soon. :)
